Designed as floating dock the ‘Tanker Slicer’ incorporates the reconfigured hull of a super tanker and water jet cutting technology to dissect redundant oil tankers into sections that can be more easily transported onto dry land, for further re-cycling.
The slicer is floated into harbours, before it unfolds and attaches itself to existing berthing piers, to commence a process that minimises the risk of oil spillages and igniting flammable fumes. Once cut sections of the tankers are craned out of the dock and paraded onto the main land.
